When the Cullen's returned from their holiday on Esme Isle Edward had no idea his life was going to change forever. Whilst he was away the empty seat next to him was filled... By Damienne Renton. There was something that drew Edward to her, she seemed to just fit in a way Edward had never thought possible. However nothing is ever simple in life and his relationship with Damienne is no exception.
Damienne comes from a family of shapeshifters. Her father had moved her from La Push to Forks to escape that life. Jason only wanted a normal life for his youngest daughter, away from the family that had destroyed everything he loved. He knew the stories of the vampires in Forks, however they seemed the lesser of two evils. His son Tobias, however, doesn't see it this way. Damienne is stuck in a battle between her father and her brothers and now she is being sucked into Edwards life too.
Can a relationship last between Edward and Damienne when there is so much stacked against them? Even if Edward manages to hold his thirst there is still the chance she carries the shapeshifter gene. Even if she doesn't it is unlikely Tobias would allow his sister to stay with Edward, no matter how much she loved him. Will Carlisle find a way to calm both sides or will the tensions between the Renton's and the Cullen's boil over?
Only time will tell, at Haunted Light, where our pasts haunt us all.
