Looks: Maikeru has soft, shiny ebony colored hair, his raven colored locks are tinted ever so slightly with blue that blends in almost perfectly with his black hair but when the sun catches it, its hard to miss…His eyes are the color of an ocean on a bright summer day. They are the perfect shade of blue and could easily be compared to jewels. His skin is a little lighter than most peoples… It’s extremely fair but his pale skin makes his skin look like its made out of porcelain… On the right side of his head he wears kenseikan that symbolize his nobility . Because of his exquisite features Maikeru is considered quite popular and handsome by a lot of girls he meets. His build is very muscular.. His muscles can be seen through his sleeveless shinigami robes. On his hands Maikeru wears a pair of black fingerless gloves.

Background and Personality
History Maikeru was born into the Kuchiki family 100 years ago, one of the four noble families. when he was born it was discovered the he possessed an immense amount for Spirtual Pressure that rivaled Kenpachi's own Spirtual Pressure and on his older brother Byakuya's order Maikeru is taken into seclusion for his training. As grew up he would spend countless hours training in preparation for him to take over as the head of the Kuchiki clan. This training was hard and grueling but as was to be expected when growing up in the Kuchiki clan. If one was part of the Kuchiki clan than it was sure that they had plans for you. So the training had to be intense and test every aspect of your personality and willpower and everything else..


Though it wasn’t all hard stuff, growing up in the royal family and a mansion to boot had its plus sides of course. Maikeru earned respect and was allowed certain things soul reapers and academy student were not. At least not right away… Maikeru had a relatively happy childhood in the Kuchiki mansion, Sure things were hard sometimes but he knew it was all for his own good. Maikeru would grow stronger because of the hard training he was put through; he would have certain advantages over other shinigami so he wasn’t complaining and he completed his training.


Life went on as planned for Maikeru. He was trained everyday and he showed signs of great progress. There were days on end where it was all work and no play and to some that may seem a little rough since Maikeru was still young but that’s what it takes to be a Kuchiki sometimes.


Perhaps the severe and serious training he went through as a child helped aide this fact but Maikeru gained a passion for fighting… when he was younger he was always itching for a fight and if someone so much as looked at him wrong he would pick a fight with them..This of course got him into trouble with the Kuchiki clan and he was scolded and punished many times but that never stopped him. As he grew up his lust for battle grew as well as his drive to be stronger.


Maikeru was a promising addition to the Kuchiki clan; he worked hard and did all that was asked of him. The Kuchiki’s gladly accepted him as one of the family but just being a member wasn’t/isn’t enough for him he wants to be head of the Kuchiki family and rule it one day and has been working to achieve this goal ever since. It’s taking longer than he would have hoped but like the saying goes “good things come to those who wait” Maikeru nowadays spends his free time looking for other opponents to battle with… Things have been slow in the soul society as of recently but the signs of change have been brewing on the horizon and who knows maybe the chance for a great adventure is soon to come, only time will tell.
Personality Maikeru Kuchiki is a member of the noble Kuchiki clan, one of the four great noble families in Soul Society. As such, Maikeru acts in an aristocratic manner he seems always serene and apathetic towards other people, even when he is actually deeply conflicted. He is also extremely calm, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions.

Maikeru strongly believes in law and order. In terms of his attitude, Maikeru is fight-loving. He loves fighting so much that he is unwilling to travel anywhere without a sword, However, Maikeru does have a sense of loyalty and responsibility to the Kuchiki Family.

Maikeru considers fighting fun, and tries to get as much "fun" as he can out of his opponents, so much so that he would take deadly risks to drag out the fight for as long as possible. Maikeru is seen constantly smiling when engaging in a fight with a formidable opponent. He considers the only honorable battles to be those that are fought one-on-one. Even the threat of death is not a reason to ignore this fact, as they believe that the winner is only to be determined when the other dies.

Description: A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the bases of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of shunpo can move; those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower, which requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become winded far easier in a shorter amount of time.

Zanpaktou Information
Zanpaktou Name: Soushiki Kaji (Funeral Fire)
Zanpakutou Appearence Maikeru’s zanpaktou is the Soushiki Kaji (Funeral Fire) the silvery blade is the standard size of most katanas. Its hilt is solid black and hard, The Soushiki Kaji’s hilt isn’t wrapped like most normal katanas are. An open mouth dragon’s head adorns the top of the hilt and towards the bottom four metal hooks like things project from the side.
The sheath, the casing in which protects the blade is solid black as well. Except for the ends in which a piece of metal surrounds the bottom and top. The Sheath is also wrapped in a thick black cord near the top which adds to the decoration but also helps Maikeru tie it to his waist if need be..

Shikai Appearence: Maikeru’s Shikai is the Soushiki Kaji (Funeral Fire). The blade seems to have grow just a little wider and now has multiple hooks coming from the sides that look like crescent moons. The top of the blade is now wider and rounder in appearance and the hilt no longer has a dragon on the top.. A metal ring now takes it place and is now entirely all metal with a thick piece of black rubber in the middle to better hold on to it..

Shikai Ability: Kouki Kaji (Final Fire) Final fire create jets of fire from his Zanpakuto that are able to cause fiery explosions on impact. The shots can also catch the opponent on fire.They can also be manipulated into several forms (like, rings of fire or a circle of fire)and surrounding the target then striking from all directions
Bankai Appearence: Maikeru’s bankai is the Enkou Soushiki Kaji (Black Flame Funeral Fire). The blade has now undergone a total and complete makeover. The blade becomes a flaming sword that can be lengthen to become a flaming bladed 10' whip like weapon. The hilt of the sword is now a deep blue color and looks like its made up w with several circular pieces tightly packed together.

Bankai Ability: Kiyoraka Enkou (Cleansing Flame) A ring of fire 4' acrossed appears at his back and with each swing of his sword it shoot's torrents of fire out to whatever the tip of the blade is pointed at he can control the movement of the flames shot from the ring making them chase the opponent. That catches whatever the shots hit on fire and and not be put out by anything and will burn through anything excluding Spirtally charged weapons, and cannot be extinguished with water or any other normal methods. However, the flames burn fairly slowly, allowing anyone struck by it an opportunity to remove whatever clothing or body parts have been caught ablaze.

the kuchiki is a large clan, as long as he doesnt say he is directly related its approved, and by directly i mean like brother sister mother etc.

In his background he states "in preparation to take over as the head of Kuchiki clan." I took this as meaning he would be an immediate relative to Byakuya considering he is the current head and has been for the past 100 years... which would also make him a relative of me...

i see but he could mean that he was a canadate, as the anime never states it has to be relatives to take clan head does it? sorry i didnt get to watch much before the arrancar arrival

I would like to have related to Byakuya and Rukia. As far as becoming head of Kuchiki family that dosen't have to happen any time soon or not at all even.

I don't believe it states it in the anime in the early episodes, I was basing this off of my knowledge of nobility in general. (I also reenact the English Renaissance :), wherein I am a but a lowly class wandering minstrel, who has had occasion to play for the Queen)

For a member of the family to be considered for the "head of family" they must either be a direct descendant, or "adopted" into the immediate family. This is one of the reasons it was greatly frowned on when Byakuya married beneath his station and adopted someone from a lower class. He was making it possible for any heirs of Rukia to be named "head of family" thus, in their eyes, degrading the main family line.

In the Zanpaktou rebellion, it is briefly mentioned... Then again you have to be looking for it.

This is also true for Scottish clans... (I'm part of the Crawford clan, but not directly descended... So I don't get to be a duchess... lol)
