PostSubject: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptySun May 23, 2010 1:59 pm

The sun beat down upon Seiretei in the usual fashion, with a lazy glare that worked to raise the temperature. While the sun cast down it's furious force it seemed to have no effect as the Captain of the Eight Division, Takashi, worked his best to explain the reason for his commanding of all the inhabitants of the Training area for Shinigami be temporally expelled from their location. "Please, please you must all understand!" Takashi shouted as he attempted to calm down those that were obviously outraged and those whose expressions spoke of naught but anger. "You see, if Kenji and I get serious then it's safe to assume that those in the immediate area might just be injured. So please leave, at least for the next two hours, that's all we ask" Takashi explained as best he could. Takashi had come dressed rather strangely considering that he was a captain. Takashi wore a battered version of the Shinigami Kosode, along with it's rather tattered appearance the Kosode possessed no sleeves and so showed off his arm muscles. Over his obviously customized Kosode he wore his Captains haori as a cape which entailed not utilizing the arms of the clothing at all and instead only the shoulders.

As he had arrived roughly fifteen minutes early Takashi had finished setting up the strange device he had gotten from the 12th Division that allowed both Kenji and he to fight at full power without worrying about causing devastation. Now with only six minutes left until the scheduled sparring match would begin Takashi began warming up. "Now then Kenji" Takashi thought to himself as he bent down to touch his toes "Lets see what you can do".

PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptySun May 23, 2010 2:24 pm

Kenji slowly marched throughout Sereitei, his cape dangled with the wind as it blew strongly throughout the guarded gates. Today was a special day for Kenji, where he would actually have fun instead of sitting around staring into blank space in one of Sereitei's roofs. Shinigami stared at him, and wondering why this man wore a cape for a haori. Well, he was the 6th division Captain, but only those from within the division and his other Captains knew about him and his appearance, this was his first official day out showing his authority.

Finally reaching his destination, he peeked at frustrated faces of shinigami that we're training. "If you people still would like to stay here. That is fine." Kenji stared at them with such a red eyes that seems as though were piercing through your mind and clouding up your thoughts with fear. He was an dark, intimidating individual who doesn't like people getting in his way. "But, I can guarantee you this. You might not live through it. If we can't talk you out of it, there is nothing else to talk about, lest, let us make you watch the wonder of two Captains who are allowed to fight at full power in your vicinity, and lets see if this would still be a place you'd want to be." Such a stain on the battlefield, these weaklings. Not only would they get in the way, but if any casualties were reported, these two captains were surely going to be making up for it in someway, which isn't really a good thing.

As his opponent for today did, Kenji made sure to change his clothing akin to his fighting style. He wore a pauldron that had a rib-like design groping his chest from the back to front. Along with his captain haori, he wore his patented robe designed for swift movement with a pair of pants that go along with it in the same color. He wore gloves that extended from his fists up to his arms, albeit they were metallic. This goes the same for the boots, which extended up to his knees and were made of a metallic material called silver. They weren't too heavy to carry around, in fact, they were light enough not to affect Kenji's movements, but were strong enough to withstand amazing force. It was the exact replica of Kenji's attire when he goes to bankai, and he decided it might work with him when he uses that same armor when in shikai.

"I can't do anything if you don't. But anyways, I don't guarantee I can win, much that I care." Kenji actually only agreed to this in the terms that he would be able to have another one week vacation to Tokyo and it didn't matter if he won. But it seems that this guy wanted a fight, then that's what he'll get. Kenji's eyes sparked some indifferent, yet seemingly focused radii. Kenji slowly grabbed hold of his zanpakuto in its sealed form, then slowly pulled the sword out of its sheath. Once unsheathed, he held out his zanpakuto in a horizontal slash motion, suspending his arms and sword perpendicular to his body.

"Let's begin."

Takashi couldn't help but grow to admire Kenji as he listened to him speak to the reluctant inhabitants. And when he caught sight of Kenji, all rared and ready to go in his stance he felt a cold sweat begin to grow somewhere around his pectoral area. "It seems he wants to jump right into it huh" Takashi thought to himself "if thats the case.." Takashi trailed off silently and then let out a loud bark that sounded suspiciously something like "Haoto, Hoshi Fuka". At the release of words Takashi's zanpakutou, which took the apperance of a Tanto began to glow white as he unsheathed it, within an instant Takashi's hands were wrapped in Trench Knives which were tapered to an pointed and sharp end. "If were just going to leap right into it, lets do it RIGHT!" Takashi let out the last word as a roar and lunged forwards causing his Captain's haori to flutter to the ground and raise it's own little cloud of dust. Takashi closed the distance between himself and Kenji with a single bound, while reckless the technique could be considered logical as Takashi was a specilist in Hakuda and thus close quarters were where he shined. Launching a jab with his left hand Takashi was hoping to test the reflexes of his opponent. "A simple welcome true, but lets just see what he does to respond shall we" Takashi thought to himself as his fist went along it's course.

PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptySun May 23, 2010 3:27 pm

Kenji smirked for a bit, but his eyes, as weird as it looks, didn't even change its expression. It was still uncaring, yet focused. Kenji's position did not change. His right arm was still in parallel to the ground, and thus, and charging attack that tries to go after him could already be deemed reckless, not to mention dangerous.

From that position, Kenji waited patiently as his opponent released his zanpakuto. This would in turn mean that Kujou must somehow slow down his charge, if he doesn't want Kenji to meet him head on as he released his zanpakuto. He needed more time to release, then much more time for him to actually continue with a charge, allowing Kenji more than enough fleeting moments for him to observe his movements. "Too close..." Of course, any form of jab would be aimed directly at the head or chest part, and Kenji used this to his advantage to duck a little, angling his legs using his knees and his head raised only as high as Kujou's diaphragm. Kenji exclaimed as he swiftly slashed his sword horizontally at the attacking captain when he launched a left jab. Kenji's sword though, acted as if it was an extension of his body, and with a swift horizontal slash, it was sure distract the momentum of the punch, substituting his body's position for a dodge from the slash, and then from there on, Kenji's attack begins.

"Ryuudou, Nagare.." He silently mumbled as a current of electricity danced in his right arm, surprisingly visible. Within fraction of a second after that, a large discharge of electricity exploded around Kenji in a two meter diameter, close enough to affect Kujou with a shocking effect that could do some amount of damage. He was still on his ducking position as he released his zanpakuto's shikai, but he can't do anything attack with his Shikai's abilities for now. He shunpoed a good 10 meters away from his opponent, and then, used his first ability. "Seisei..." From then on, Kenji would be able to generate electricity for his use. His katar would be flowing with negatively charged electrons, though unlike before, was not visible to the eye. But, in all of our knowledge, there is already a kidou allowing you to conduct electricity through a conducter or to an opponent for shock. What was special about Kenji's? First off, his ability was natured-based, not kidou, this means that the reiatsu he converted into electricity actually follows all electrical rules, which means that a small scale shock may mean electrocution if placed in the correct areas, unlike kidou which is actually reiatsu mimicking the effects akin to electricity. Not only that, Kenji's way of fighting was a lot different that the others.

He fights with his brains and analyzes his opponents movements by the second, and observes his environment as well as himself to fit the situation. Another thing about his shikai is that, it is an actual dual wield weapon. He now wears another glove replacing the one on his left, which is also made of the metal silver, but it now has a thin silver wire that is able to extend up to five meters, and can survive epic force without much damage. His glove is also used for defensive purposes, blocking with his left and attacking with his right. Everything was set, the real battle begins.

PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyMon May 24, 2010 1:57 am

To say that he was surprised was a bit of an understatement, Takashi was left speechless by the bravery he was seeing coming from the captain of the sixth division, Kenji. Takashi broke out in an even bigger grin than he had already possessed and his eyes suddenly dropped their playful tone and seemed to gain a much darker and rather more terrifying light to them. With that his Reiatsu seemed to carry the same feeling of dread that now emanated from his eyes.

When Takashi noticed that he would reach within striking distance of the captain before his blade was fully released he changed his tactics, he altered the course of his charge by exactly 25 degrees which would put him more towards the shoulder of his sparring partner. This would give him another split second of time though it did sort of take away from the immediate danger he had represented by charging straight ahead as he had done. Takashi couldn't help but let slip a little yelp of surprise as Kenji ducked under his jab only to swing back with his own blade. Takashi jumped, confident that he had avoided the most prominent danger of the attack as the blade whizzed away just below his feet. That was not the case as Kenji seemingly let loose with his own Shikai which brought with it a much more impressive releasing ceremony. Takashi felt a sharp pain and felt his own body go weightless as electricity shot through him at a speed he couldn't have hoped to dodge in such a scenario. The energy caused Takashi to fly backwards and roll end over end until he finally stopped flat on his face, steam rising from his body as his sweat had been transformed into a gaseous state via the heat caused by said electricity.

Takashi struggled for an instant to make the world stop spinning within his own mind but only succeeded in making it stay steady long enough for him to get to his feet, the entire ordeal seemed to have succeeded in wiping the smirk from Takashi's lips. "Jesus Christ!" Takashi muttered loud enough for Kenji to catch word of "Thats some kind of heat your packing there Kenji-Taicho! If I didn't know better." it was here that Takashi began to smirk once more returned with a vengeance "I could swear you were trying to kill me or something". Takashi noticed that Kenji had opened the distance between them if only for an instant and it was more than enough for Takashi to take advantage of himself if he played his cards right. Taking in a deep breath Takashi let loose with a flurry of jabs, but something happened that was more than just a few jabs hitting the air. White light seemed to travel at an impressive speed towards Kenji, a small orb of the light seemed to have been launched by each of Takashi's jabs which caused them to number around fifteen, each intent on colliding with Kenji's armored figure. "FEEDING FRENZY!" Takashi roared, finally revealing the name for the attack as soon as he was done the group of fifteen, he was obviously delighting in being able to cut loose as they were. The concussive blasts of energy had the same amount of force that one of Takashi's punches might deliver albeit, airborne.

Takashi was no genius, he knew that for certain. But he was quite a confident fighter and for good reason. While Kenji may have roasted the shirt clean off his back and made him a makeshift boiling pot for a second there he was still ready to go at it with full force. Takashi usually fought with his instinct and reflexes rather than his brains as he had learned that thinking took more time than just moving and it was simply smarter to just go with what seemed more natural. This seemed to be in stark contrast to Kenji's fighting style which was clearing very composed and careful and which seemed to yield spectacular results on a steady basis.

PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyMon May 24, 2010 2:26 am

Within that small second, Kenji's eyes widened as he saw the orbs released from Takashi's fist. He didn't expect them to be his ability, and they seemed to be powerful, and fast. Kenji didn't have the time to count all of them for a strategic dodge and attack, and instead this time he had to rely on his instincts and reflexes, mostly the latter though. Because he was fairly shocked though, he didn't let his body react as it would normally have when it sees such an attack, and got hit with 7 of the orbs, 4 to his chest and three on his head.

Fortunately, he was able to dodge the remaining orbs by doing a leaping-left strafe movement, moving his left leg a large distance from his original position, allowing him to transverse that same distance and still allow him to have a good look at the orbs and his opponent. "I must say, I was quite surprised by that attack. Still though, it felt like those orbs hit me as if they were just your fists hitting my body, without any added force. This means, those won't be of any use close quarters. But I do wonder..." Kenji is very proficient in using Shunpo and can move a large distance with just a few steps. He did three consecutive steps in straight motion, and placed himself just in front of Takashi, but with his body in the same ducking position he did last time, so to remove most of himself to Takashi's view.

"...What are your other abilities..." Kenji then did a diagonal slashing motion from his left with his katar, moving in from his hips then upward aiming at Takashi's neck area. The nature of this attack made it easy for blocking though, as it made Kenji do a two-step movement, which takes more time. One was setting his right arm so that it would be somehow placed to the left of his body and hips, and then the second is the actual upward slash. Another thing to take note of is that his body was still recuperating from the barrage of attacks Takashi made, and thus just for this exact moment until his body adapts, his movement slowed for an instant. Still, he knew his situation, but he decided to try though. He also noted that when in close quarters, Takashi's long range ability could be deemed useless to say the least, as it had the same force from an actual direct hit, it had the purpose to remove the distance from the enemy, luring him for a much more powerful attack in a closer distance.

Let the Games begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyMon May 24, 2010 3:22 am

As his a portion of a his assault had hit Takashi took the time to start up part two of his assault. "Taking a note out of your book Kenii" Takashi whispered to himself, he referred to Kenji as a mixture of the Japanese word for brother, Onii, and Kenji's name resulting in Kenii. Focusing upon his right hand Takashi began flowing his Reiatsu into the Trench Knives that his Zanpakutou had become thus working towards the completion of his most destructive technique. Takashi had taken the idea to set up as his first attack was kicking in from the example Kenji had just given him. Takashi felt a pang of anger at the words of Kenji, it was rather insulting considering that he had been a member of the 2nd Division and he was so confident in his Hakuda skill and power. "For your information I used to be a member of the 2nd Division so I'm sure my punches did at least something" Takashi couldn't help but start to trail off a bit near the last three words.

Considering the lack of speed in Kenji's attack Takashi was confident in his ability to avoid it, but it was not to be. As Takashi made to jump, he realized that Kenji's electricity wave had somehow cut off most of the feeling in his legs causing him to get a rather erratic leap, one that was more up than backwards as he had planned. The result was that Kenji's Katar made it's way rather smoothly through Takashi's thigh leaving a deep and rather dangerous looking wound. Takashi bit back a scream of pain and instead grit his teeth so hard he felt one of his molars actually chip. Lashing out more out of pain rather than his plan Takashi launched his much larger blast of energy. The force behind this one in particular was equal to at least six of his former ones back into one, it was however roughly only 1/2 the speed so it was pretty much useless until Kenji had moved into close quarters. "You assumed I was some sort of long-range fighter because my ability just happens to be suited for long-range but that doesn't necessarily mean that I have to fight to my Zanpakutou's style." Takashi thought to himself, he would have spoken it but he was pretty sure if he opened his mouth he might just whimper in pain.

Takashi immediately began his retreat as he began utilizing Shunpo while moving in the direction of his back, this allowed him to keep his on Kenji while creating distance. Once he as roughly twelve feet away Takashi grabbed hold of a piece of his now tattered Shinigami Hosode and tied it around around the wound that Kenji's Katar had given him, this helped to staunch the bleeding, for now. "If it hadn't been for that cut he just gave me for sure he was going to get some more serious damage in. But the pain snapped me out of it" Takashi thought to himself as he leveled his fists once again at Kenji.

[color=blue][size=11]Tactics, as they say, doesn't always include dodging attacks because they're powerful, it also includes judging them. Kenji was allowed some time to judge the larger blast of energy because of its slow speed, it wasn't as fast as the others which he was able to dodge with just a left strafe. Kenji's katar started to flow with electricity again as he jumped up to avoid the blast and landed safely on the ground. His opponent readied with his battle stance, as Kenji did a slashing motion to set his arms parallel to his shoulders.

"I see. If I get too near, a powerful blast that is meant for close-quarters will be the problem, while if I am a distance farther, orbs that have the firepower of a single punch, but is airborne and has good speed." Kenji only has two techniques that he brought with him, electricity generation and then to let that current flow. It also seems that Kenji won't be using kidou today, one of his most important weapons, as he calmly stated before he got here that 'kidou is a mess, and shouldn't be used'. He never really liked kidou, but he knew the potential behind it, still though, he doesn't use the said generic abilities unless he meant to kill or if it was a real enemy behind that zanpakuto. Kenji, decided to close the distance. If he was going to be useless in a distance, he had no other choice but to do things close up.

Although, it was time for another stand still. Kenji did not move nor did he change positions, he was waiting patiently.

PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyMon May 24, 2010 1:43 pm

While it was true that Takashi was not as skilled a tactian as Kenji it was easy for him to grasp just what was going on in the battle between himself and Kenji. "Neither of us wants to make the first move now. He's got an understanding of how I fight and vice versa." Takashi thought to himself as he shifted his weight from his front to his back foot and then again back to his front. "To say that were opposite ends of the spectrum would be a mistake. I've fought against guys who relied entirely upon their minds before and Kenii is most definitely one of them. He fights with his brains primarily but thats not all there is to it, his reflexes act as a back up. " Takashi reasoned with himself as he began to fidget slightly, he was not a very good waiter and as such he decided immediately to make the first move. "Theres no point in giving him time to think I suppose " Takashi told himself as he utilized his Shunpo to move travel at what he hoped was a near untraceable speed.

Stopping right in front of Kenji rather suddenly Takashi lased out with a rather large right hook. "PREEMPTIVE STRIKE!" Takashi shouted as he aimed to deal a devastating blow. Unlike a punch that might have been used to knock out this blow was aimed primarily for the area just below Kenji's armpit, the area where his liver would be. "If it hits successfully it'll send years of poisons and or toxins that he's accumulated through out his life shooting back through hi system" Takashi thought as the attack had been launched. Takashi had a grand total of three attacks, each of which he had aptly dubbed with names relating to Sharks and their behavior. The third he was saving, just in case things worked out for him. "No point in pulling out all the stops until I'm sure it can make a big difference" he had told himself as he had been tempted to let loose the third of his trio of attacks.

Let the Games begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyMon May 24, 2010 2:34 pm

The way things are, it seems that Takashi was falling into Kenji's little mind-trap. Kenji has already judged his abilities, and it seems that he went for what Kenji would expect, a close-quarter barrage of attacks. Kenji was able to dodge the previous jab attack that Takashi did, and this was not going to be any more different. Kenji had predicted that Takashi would have made the first move if he stopped, it was obvious that Kenji was luring him to close distance so that his attacks can easily be predicted. With this sequence Kenji had in mind of how he attacks from a long distance, he can somehow find out the outcome. What was the sequence? First, once the enemy holds a distance, Takashi will then either charge or shunpo near the enemy and once he gets a hold of his position will do a punching attack, since most of his fighting style rely on hand-to-hand combat, enhanced with the increasing ability. With that in mind, Kenji only needed to keenly observe where the attack would come from.

Kenji's eyes fixed upon Takashi's shoulders once he got near, and Kenji took a step back using his right foot to distance him a little bit more and give him a more full body view of Takashi. The most forward movement was from the right shoulder, and this gave Kenji the idea of a right hook, but he couldn't actually calculate where the attack would be aimed, he quickly moved his head down to go and see most of Takashi's right arm, and it seems it was placed lower than Kenji's head, somewhere at the chest area was his target. With the first step he did, he pivoted his right foot to the right, and then took a step back with his left, placing his body on a diagonal position almost parallel to the arm of Takashi. With that, a simple dodge has been made. Although what was weird was Kenji maintained his still position of his arms in line with his shoulder, and as he stepped, he pulled his arm up so that it would be perpendicular to his shoulders, then as he did his second step he did a downward slash aimed at Takashi's biceps, all with the power of electricity.

If worst comes to worst for Takashi, the voltage of the electricity would travel greatly and most of it would flow enough to damage the nerve ending on his muscles, causing some form of temporary paralysis on his right arm, which he had to be careful of.

PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyWed May 26, 2010 10:12 am

For a second in which Takashi's attack had been launched and Kenji had reacted, Takashi was absolutely certain he lost sight of Kenji as he dodged the attack. "You have got to be KIDDING ME!" Takashi roared at himself within his own mind as he felt a burning hot pain that could only be Kenji lashing out with that deadly sharp Katar, Shikai of his. Gritting his teeth Takashi had intended to take the blade's fury and respond wtih double the interest as he nailed Kenji with a counterattack, however, it seemed there would be a large kink in his plans. Almost as soon as the blade had made it's exit path through Takashi's flesh and muscle fibers the electricity arched it's way through his blood fueled system and when it hit his heart. Thats when it all hit the fan, as they say. "GUAH!" Takashi screamed as the pain and electricity in itself caused him to arch his back and twitch slightly. While the pain was severe the suffering only lasted an instant before Takashi fell back to the ground, his muscles still twitching, immobile.

Takashi stumbled backwards, his intention to flee from anymore suffering Kenji might deal out was plain to see. "Shit! Kenii is really bringing out all the stops huh" Takashi thought to himself, "But I can still beat him, as long as I play it smart and things go my way. I can beat him" Takashi convinced himself as he felt the dread of defeat closing in on him. It was then that the heavens themselves decided to deliver the ultimate atmospherically pimp slap to Takashi, a single drop of rain fell, landing on the top of Takashi's head. For a second Takashi thought it might just help him as it might lower the visibility via mist but as he remembered what mist was compsoed of the blood drained from his face at an intense pace. Suddenly the heavens let loose a sudden downpour, only the start of the storm to come and to puncuate the rain came the sound of thunder, far off in the distance. "No. Fucking. Way!" Takashi shouted as he felt the water, soaking him, his hair and his clothing. "Okay, maybe I WON'T win this one" Takashi whispered to himself.

Let the Games begin Empty
PostSubject: Re: Let the Games begin   Let the Games begin EmptyWed May 26, 2010 11:22 am

Kenji was having a favorable streak. He had somekind of a good understanding in how Takashi worked his pace and how he fought. Kenji had actually fought a good number of people with this kind of style, but never has he seen someone with such determination in his eyes- still though, it won't be enough for him. The heavens started to a loud scream of a roar, as the skies darkened and rain poured slightly on the ground, then all so suddenly propelling the water down fully, it's started to rain. Kenji couldn't help but smirk for a bit. Not only will the water complement Kenji's power, it is actually one of Kenji's most useful tacts in his fights. Whenever there was a puddle or some form of water, even water from a bottled container, Kenji uses it to his very advantage. Opening the skin of a human being and then with the flesh and insides getting exposed to electricity is bad, but the point is, it becomes way worse when water comes into the equation, becoming a conductor that would enhance the effects of electricity, and some other things.

"Looks like I'm a bit lucky today, but still... I can't let my guard down." Though Kenji's plan of paralyzing Takashi didn't work as he pleased, he still did some amount of damage to swiftly open a wound and embed some electricity on that attack. The rain was falling hard on Kenji's head and shoulders, the water slowly sliding and dripping away from his clothes. Takashi's expression is clearly showing that he understood the situation here.

Kenji's katar sparked a little bit more power than it did before it rained, and from that, it was just proof that the environment was now working its best, though not for Kenji, it did work indirectly. Quickly shunpoing in-front of Takashi, he slid his left foot in the middle of Takashi's feet where little space was accessible, then pushed his left leg with a fair amount of force a little to the left so that Takashi would trip to the right. Consecutively, Kenji made another upward slash, but to the left, aiming to slice Takashi's chest by meeting his body with Kenji's katar head on. If this would hit, it would end the battle in a way of paralysis or that his body wouldn't be able to take the electricity, and with the water sparkling down from above, it would serve a lesser possibility of a win, unless of course, Takashi manages to get himself out of this dire situation.
