First day of a new life.

-----Night before-------

Keravnos was laying in his room when he heard the room of his house open and thought his family was just getting in. He looked over at the clock next to him and saw it was only 6:23. He slowly got up from his bed and put his left hand onto his sword. He walked slowly to the door and slid it open without making a sound. He saw to men dress in black in the middle of the room talking but could hear them.

He slammed the door open and the two men looked at him. He said "What the heck are you two men doing at my house?" The men just looked at him and with saying a word they both pulled out a knife. The men both walked slowly forward at Keravnos and pulled up the knife.

The man swung at the same time at Keravnos chest and Keravnos pulled his swords out. He blocked the knifes and pushed on both with all his body weight. He used the force of the men pushing to jump back and got ready in an attack stance. One of the man moved back and other darted forward.

Keravnos step forward swing his sword forward but slicing to the side and put a little cut across the man chest. He knew he couldn't kill someone because the soul reaper would come after him or something else would happen. The man fell to the ground holding the cut and other man just shook his head.

Keravnos looked at the man to see what he was going to do and the man throw his knife at Keravnos. Keravnos block the knife but when he looked up the man wasn't in the same spot as before and felt a fist coming across his face. Keravnos acted quickly and jumped to the side while swing his sword to the side. The swing connected with the man arm and the man brought his arm back to him while holding it.

Keravnos looked at the man and said "I am going to gave you a chance to leave or I will kill you both." The other guy walk over to the man on the ground and nodded. He helped the man up and they both left the house. He didn't know he was sending off any spiritual power. Keravnos put his swords away and he wrote a letter to the family to tell them why there was blood on the ground. He head back to bed.

-------Today-------

Keravnos woke up with a sore face and every time he felt pain. He remember what happen to him and slowly got up out of bed. He open the door to see the blood spots but he couldn't find it and looked up to see female name Cat (well her nickname because she like cats.) She said "Thanks for taking care of the house last night and I did clean up the blood for you."

Keravnos smiled at her and went to the table where food was on. He sat down looked at everyone with smile. He reach down and grabbed a piece of breed. He eat the bread and reach to grab something else.

Kensei had felt the spiritual pressure, even how far away he was, he decided to visit him in the morning as he would likely want to sleep. Kensei didnt sleep that night. His mind told him to recruit the boy, but his heart felt something strange, like he was meeting someone from his past, but something felt wrong this time around. Kensei usually didnt ignore his instincts but this time he did, something felt wrong, maybe he was just getting closer to his death, not like it mattered he'd never truly die, no one would, but he was probably the only one that never forgot, both a gift and a curse.

Kensei saw it was already morning and headed out. He walked slowly to where the child from before was. He could still feel the spiritual pressure from him. He lightly knocked on the door and waited. His outfit was different from any shinigami. He had black pants and a blood red sleeveless shirt with black flams in strange patterns on it, it also had red lightning at the top, and on the back it had the kanji for 1.

Keravnos dropped the food in his hand when he heard the knock on the door and said, "I will get the door." He stood up quickly and turn him self to face the door. He slowly walked toward the door but with every step he felt something weird. He became very nervous and open the door slowly.

He saw the man standing there and said "Hello, how can I help you today, sir?" He looked at the man from head to toe and try to figure out why he was here. I wonder if it had to do with something about last night. He stood there just wait for the answer.

Kensei smiled as the child, at least a child compared to him, didnt seem too intimidated about kensei's size, something that told Kensei alot about him. "I'm here about what happened last night.... No dont worry I dont care that you beat them, they deserved it for breaking into someone's house, hell I'll be sure to deal with them later........ but I came because you were releasing spiritual energy..." He explained. Kensei hated how arrogant and stupid some shinigami were.

Even as the captain commander he was limited to what he could do. He was the only one alive that had seen the soul king. Needless to say, he was not impressed. Kensei himself had seen all his past lives after he died the last time around. He was much different from any shinigami, anyone could tell from his attitude and power.

"I would like to know why you didnt come tell one us" He said refering to the decent shinigami, who knew better than to be creul to rukongai residents, hell Kensei was trying to switch the budget to fix up most of rukongai. Luckily Central fourty six was no longer alive, the one thing Kensei almost wanted to bring aizen back to life to thank him for.

Keravnos looked at the man with puzzle looked and said "Spiritual power? I thought only soul reaper had spiritual power?" Could this mean I soul reaper or something on that line. Na, he probably has the wrong person but how did he know about that break in. He added on "Are you soul reaper?" He looked at the man very hard but he didn't dress like a soul reaper and thought all soul reapers had to wear the uniform.

"yeah.. I'm a captain" He shrugged "and no that isnt true, all beings have spiritual pressure, humans cant use it and new souls, such as yourself, usually have very little, and dont use it, hence why they dont need to eat." He chuckled. He hoped the child would become a shinigami, since he needed more like him. He could tell the boy was trustworthy and smart, but he was also quite quiet.

"OK. Well, so how can I help you?" He said with a smile. The wind blow in and Keravnos hair went to the side. I wondering if he wants me to become a soul reaper. I am not sure if I want to but there a part that does. I want to protect the ones that can't protect them self and to be come strong. He looked back at his family and they all were eating but could tell they were listening in.

"I would like to know if you intend to join the shinigami academy.... the ability to use reiatsu this early in life is quite impressive, and let me ask, do you already have a zanpokuto?" He asked, slightly narrowing his eyes. He didnt mind the family listening, not at all, but he narrowed his eyes slightly whenever he thought.

Keravnos face came very puzzle while he turn back to the man and said "Well, yeah. I would love to become stronger and protect the people that need to be protected. A zanpokuto? All I have are these two swords." He put his hands on to them and slid them out a little to show the blade. He looked back at his family again and to see what they had to say about but there face told him that they would be happy if he went. He looked back at the man with smile on his face.

"well if you want to I shall get someone to escort you there, I'd do it myself but I have to deal with a shitload of paperwork" He sighed. The only bad thing about the job was paperwork that seemed to reproduce every minute. "I'm also doing this so you can spend a bit with your family" He chuckled. Kensei turned and walked away. He waved back at him without looking.

Keravnos smiled and said "OK, I will be waiting for the other person." He close the door and turn around. The family all were up and jumped on him giving hugs and. He nodded and all of them went back to the table. Keravnos walked to his room close the door and got ready to go. He walked back out and sat down at the table with the rest of the family. They all talk and wait for the person to come around.

After quite some Rangiku appears looking for the man she is supposed to guide to the academy. "Hey is there a Keravnos here? I need to get him there soon if possible, besides I need to get back to some serious work." Rangiku yawns since she wants to go back to drinking sake again.

Keravnos heard his name getting called and jumped up. He grabbed all his things he needed and head out to find the person. He saw a good looking female standing in there and saw she was dress in soul reaper suit. He walked over to her with his hand out in front of him and saying "Hi, I am Keravnos and nice to met you. I hope I didn't cause you must trouble or to much time."

Rangiku looks Keravnos up and down. "It's okay I just need to get to my sake soon... I mean back to my duties. I am very busy since I am the 3rd seat of of the 10th Division.My captain is a slave mistress. She makes me do all sorts of things like paper work and guard duty. It's boring a shell and I miss the old days when I could just lay around sleeping, I miss those days. Oh well lets get going okay?" Rangiku shakes Keravnos's hand and starts leading him to the academy.

"So, at the academy what will I be learning there? I hear that soul reapers can used there swords beyond the physical states. I heard something about Kedo too." Keravnos started to ask question and wondering maybe I should bother her with the question because most likely learn these thing at the academy. I wouldn't mind seeing her around or being in her team. A huge smile came over his face as he followed her.

"Kidou, hand to hand combat, how to use your zanpokutou, how to soul bury spirits, all sorts of things really. I just wish they taught how to drink sake, some of the new people try to drink it like it's water. I swear it's like taking candy from babies now. I can't even have a decent sake drinking competition anymore. They all drink too fast and pass out." Rangiku pouts a bit but keeps walking towards the academy with Keravnos following her. "A word of advice, if anyone wants to have a sake drinking contest with you, sip the sake don't guzzle it like water. You'll be almost guaranteed a win you sip while they chug. Remember, the winner is the one who is still conscious and the loser is passed out. That is all that matters." Rangiku giggles and winks at Kervanos.

Keravnos smiled and looked at her weird. OK, I guess. I will remember that and maybe I can take her up one of these days and make bet. His smiled grow huge and kept following here. "Well, maybe one of these days. I will take you up on sake drink contest." Keravnos said and smiled. He added on "How much longer until the academy.

Rangiku looks around sighs. "It's over... I think it's... Hmmm. Oh that way maybe 2 miles or so." Rangiku starts off in the direction of the Academy since she had started off in the wrong direction while she was talking.

Nice does she know where she is going? Oh, well it really doesn't matter. It gaves me more time with her. He followed her and smiled.

Rangiku periodically stops and looks around to get her bearings, but eventually she gets Keravnos to the Academy. "3rd seat Rangiku Matsumoto dropping off Keravnos for Academy training as ordered. I'll leave him in your capable hands. Keravnos do your best and don't anyone get to you if they are better or merely jealous., the only thing to worry about is graduating okay?" Rangiku smiles and pats Keravnos on the shoulder.

Keravnos smiled and replied "Yeah, OK. I will see you later. I hope." He looked around at the Academy and looked at the people that where in the Academy. He looked at everyone there and could tell the different power level from each other and other but he knew that he could do my looks because people can be skilled better in other things.
