Name: Empathic Mimicry
Description: (What is does.) Domon can, by understanding a person through their emotions or understanding the way that they think, copy an individuals ability to his DNA. He can also copy the abilities of inorganics by understanding their functions. More often than not, this makes him the mediator in discussions, as he can understand both sides. This also grants him an almost superhuman ability to understand how things work, and thus many call him a genius.

Domon does not know that this is his true ability, and believes that this sub-ability is his actual power.

Name: Contact Understanding
Description: By coming in contact with an object or individual, Domon can obtain a complete understanding of it. How this occurs is still up to speculation, but some assume that it comes from the shapeshifting abilities that his grandfather had.

Background and Personality
History: Domon, like the rest of his family, has a long and checkered past. He was born as the son of Ishpaleum no Shinnok and the first Shinigami woman, before history was recorded. Life in those times was difficult, especially within the Soul Society. With no structure per sey, and regular attacks by Hollows, most children grew up fast or didn't have the chance. Domon, however, grew up somewhat privileged, due to his father's status and power. He never was told of his heritage as a child, and Ishpaleum attempted to instill within him a love for life, as well as a respect for others. This would have been much easier had there not been attempts on his father's life every other day, but the lessons reached Domon's heart. He very nearly worshiped his father, and followed him everywhere. He found it easy to understand nature and people, and made many friends very quickly. At the age of six, his powers first manifested when a Hollow appeared before him. Curious about the being, Domon stepped foward, unaware of the impending danger that the beast imposed. When the Hollow picked him up to eat him, Domon unknowingly gained his abilities, and accidentially destroyed him with a Cero. Ishpaleum appeared as this occured, having sensed the Hollow's appearance and the sudden surge in reaitsu. Ish quickly realized the dangers that Domon's powers would pose to himself, and so with great sadness chose to seal him away until such a time came when he would be able to handle the responsibilities and power that he had been given. That time came millenia later, when Ish temporarily reverted to a child state and so lost control of the seal. Domon emerged, and had no memory of his former life due to the seal being improperly removed. He wandered the streets of the human world for years, until he came in contact with a Shinigami who happened to be an aquaintance of his father's. Upon touching him, he regained a small portion of his memories, those of his father sealing him away, and of his power, which he then used to wreak havoc on the Soul Society, until Ish reappeared and fought him. In the course of that battle, Domon regained his memories for the most part, but could not forgive Ish for abandoning him for so long. He continued the battle, and it is unclear who was the victor. What is known is that Domon vanished for a few years after that, abandoning all of the abilities and powers he had obtained during that time. He began living with a family in Karakura town as a "normal" human. His adoptive family has insisted that he attend classes there, and so Domon is entering as a Freshman.
Personality:
Domon is one of the most complex people to walk the Earth, due to his empathic nature and his understanding of how things work, as well as his own unique personality. He tends to be polite and soft spoken, trying to keep his head down low so he doesn't attract attention. He is a loyal friend, and will stop at nothing to correct what he sees as an injustice to anyone. In combat, he tends to be seen as overconfident, though this is mostly due to his aptitude for predicting enemy movements. He is always honest, when he can be, and so can be seen as being overly blunt at times. While he tries to keep his emotions in check, he feels strongly about many things and people, but often tries to avoid getting too close to people, as he recognizes that they are mostly temporary.

Hmm I only see one problem here.
With your ability Empathic Mimicry I believe you should only be able to copy one ability at a time per person as well as state how long you can "mimic" the ability for.

Well, basically the way that the ability works is that he picks up on an empathic "frequency" from the individual, which his body automatically imports into a type of "archive" in his DNA, so he would retain the abilities that he learned. I realize how this could get out of hand, so what I would suggest as a limiter is to have him only be able to utilize three people's abilities at any one time. Alternatively, your recommendation seems to be a very fair idea, and I thank you for it.

Well keep in mind that usually special attacks require something for their use...maybe not for hollow with their cero and bala...and maybe hierro from arrancar...but things like shikai and bankai attacks might require the zanpakuto itself..and you cant copy anything like a ressurection. And since this is a mimicing type technique if you're going to be able to keep it..it would probably be signicantly weaker than the original.

Well, it's the original technique still... it's really not mimicking so much as it is absorbing. His DNA actually changes when he accesses their abilities, which is what makes him capable of using Cero and creating a thin hierro. However, while it may be the same strength as an opponent's attack, it is significantly harder for him to use abilities with the same degree of skill as an opponent, since he would not have had any practice in it, nor would he be versed in the techniques of an ability. (i.e. he could make a large cero or a small cero, but could not control it enough to make a Gran Ray or a bala without practice or training, and he could create the split blades from Senbonsakura, but could not split them further nor use the various techniques)

So far as Zanpakto are concerned, he must come in contact with the blade itself to take abilities from it, and then he would be learning from the spirit itself.

Okay and if the spirit doesn't want to teach Domon then I suppose he doesn't learn the abilities?

No, he would still obtain the abilities just as he would through any other being. Techniques have to be taught or developed, however, which would take significant time.

that is the same as becoming the user of the zanpaktou but I'll approve it for now.
